.
These are pictures of my 280zx right after I bought it
for $500, and vacuumed, washed, cleaned it up a bit, put a bow on it
(it was Christmas and my present to me) and took some pictures.
I didn't have a name for it, so I called it Zebra; I've
since renamed it "Mary" after the techno song "(My name is) Dirty
Mary". I figured the Rims and the Cyclones were worth the $500
alone; too bad I eventually had to replace them with non-whitewalls,
they looked sharp. And then spend the next 10 years trying to
figure out the car and struggle to get it to run 95% of what it did
when it rolled off the factory assembly line. Yeah, it
actually took me 10 years through a long line of figuring my way
through various problems.. Crusty radiator that would
oveheat the car, that I had to replace. Crack in the exhaust
manifold gasket, blowing hot gases on the distributor, would overheat
the electronics and shut down the car. Bad injectors that plagued
me forever; just because they are clicking doesn't mean they are
shooting gas. Vacuum lines that went nowhere.
Starters and alternators that wold fail over time.
Allignment fixed and new tires, windshield wipers, and all
that. Deer that hit my rigth front fender. Body work
on the roof. Oil changes and airing out when rain dripped
inside.
All in all, I spent more time working on the car than
actually driving it. I can't say I enjoyed the ride.
Oh, did I mention a $400 speeding ticket? :-/
Almost as much as the car itself.

More recent pictures are here. I totally redid
the rear interior which was previously non-existant, the gear
shift area and headunit area, and ceiling
which was just hanging down in shreds.
